refreshing alternative to the usual pillar candles.
What You Need To get
Started
Before you start making your new chunk candles, make sure that you’ve done the adequate prep work around your work station. Next, you’ll want to make sure and gather al the tools you need to make your chunk candles:
- Candle Mold
- Candle dyes in various colors
- Shallow Tray
- Wick
- Paraffin Wax
Getting
Started With Your Chunk Candle
After you’ve prepped your work
station and gathered all your materials, you’ll
need to start preparing the wax
chunks. You can either use leftover scraps from previous
candle projects or you make new ones by melting wax,
adding color and allowing it to set in a shallow pan.
Depending on what direction you aim for with your
project, a useful tip is to never discard old candle
scraps. Amass a collection of old candle scraps and set
them aside or melt them down into chunks. Set them aside
and use them for your next batch of chunk candles. By
doing this, you’ll massively cut down on the cost of
wax.
So, after you’ve got your wax chunks together, simply prepare the mold by spraying oil and wicking it. Then you’ll simply fill the mold with chunks. Lastly, you’ll just need to melt the wax the same way you would a pillar candle and add it to the mold, allowing it to set completely. After it’s properly cooled, take it out of the mold and you’re ready to go!
